Concepts in Marriage and Family 1.0
"Every man is a selfish beast by the standard of a woman. But let her find out the beast while they are both still in the story of 'Beauty and the Beast'. Every man has to find out that his wife is cross - that is to say, sensitive to the point of madness: for every woman is mad [insane, crazy] by the masculine standard. But let him find out that she is mad while her madness is more worth considering than anyone else's sanity." - G.K. Chesterton

Question: Is it better for a kid to be in a bad home with 2 parents, or to be in an acceptable situation with just one? (for the sake of discussion, the "bad home" is not violent/abusive, but not a good situation either).

Have you ever thought seriously about marriage Biblically? Very involved, and too long to type, but what a serious wake up! What DOES the Bible say about marriage? About divorce? A study I would recommend.

"Some institutions have stood the test of time because they are the only ones that can stand the test of time."

What do you think about the wife being "submissive?" "Quite often, the problem isn't with the wife's submission. Often, it is a lack of self-sacrificial love from the husband." - Dr. John
A man needs his wife to show him respect; then he will love her. A woman needs her husband to love her; then she will respect him. This is natural, but often gets going the other way. Men want to serve their wives, and the wife wants him to be leader - this is also natural. The problem of "submission" for the most part will take care of itself if the man will show unconditional love, and the wife will show unconditional respect. - ideas from Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs
